District Varanasi is spread over 24.060 north to 24.350 north and 81.410 east to 81.420 east. The river Ganga and Gomati flow along the two sides of the district and the river Varuna flows in the middle of the city. The area of Varanasi district is nearly 1550.30 sq Km.
  The ancient city Kashi now known as Varanasi believed to be existed since the beginning of the earth. It is said that it is situated on the Trishul of Lord Shiva and is without any parallel in the three worlds(Trilok) .
