1. Introduction of DIET

D.I.E.T. Saidpur, Ghazipur is recognized by Indian Government Order No. F?3?13?/97/12524 Dated 16.07.1997. This Institution is situated near National Highway No. 29 Varanasi to Ghazipur and it is 37 Km. far away the Head Office of District Ghazipur. District Ghazipur is apart Varanasi zone. It is situated from 25?.19 north latitude to to 25?.54 north latitude and 83?.4 east to 83?.58 east longitude. The area of district Ghazipur is 3377 sq. km. Its length from west to east is 90 km. and its width is 64 km. south to north.

District Ghazipur is surrounded between Bihar state in east and District Jaunpur in the west district Chandauli in south, district Varanasi in south west, district Azamgarh in north west, district Mau in north and district Ballia in north east.

According to legends Ghazipur is named after the name of king Gadhi. After methological periods the existence of Ghazipur became very clear letter on. It is said that before getting Nirvana Mahatma Buddha had come to Ghazipur from Sarnath and went towards north after breaching the inhabitant of District Ghazipur. Because of his arrival this place succeeded in attracting the attention of Maurya and Gupta?s emperors towards itself. Stoop built by Gupta is in existence till now. Which is a the proof for historians.

Chinees traveler, Whensong has described about this land in his traveling description during his Indian travel. Whensong has declared this place as Chanchu. Which mean the capital of battle emperor in other words it is called Uddhapatipur. It is added with Uranpur, Garajpur. According Hoqu Istaqubal Ghazipur came in existence in 738 Hizari. Which is near about 1320 A.D. It is said that Sayyad Mahmood having taken the post of Ghazipur, in housed the Ghazipur town. Ghazipur, the land part declared by Mahaarshi Vishwamitra?s father, Gadhi has been the work place of Rishis, thinkers, kings and powerful forces.

The history of Saidpur is very old. In ancient time it was know as Siddhipuri. Later on it was called Sayyadpur then it was known as the name of Saidpur. D.I.E.T was founded in Saidpur in 1993.
