Development of Teacher Editions
The new textbooks launched recently are purposely designed at enabling the teachers to acquire and widen their perception to effectively transact the curriculum in child friendly interactive sessions. There is evident paradigm shift from teacher centered to student centered teaching reflected through the format and design of these books. Therefore, in order to properly induct and orient the teachers into the new methodology and specific content areas, teacher editions of these textbooks are being developed for primary and upper primary level. These teacher editions focus on the substantive content structures as integrated for classes I to VIII in all subjects. In structural terms in these teacher editions in the first part, specifications of objectives for the content area, teaching techniques methodology are provided; in the second part some lesson plans and explanation on some hard spots are indicated while in the third part the format for some interesting activity based sessions related to content are suggested. These teacher editions also provide some hints to minimize the gap between the textual orientations and the intentions of curriculum. They also hint at important points to be highlighted in the lessons along with the approximate time duration required and evaluation procedure to be followed. These teacher handbooks have been provided to every teacher of the State at primary and upper primary level.
Teachers Manual had been translated into Urdu language by the units of SCERT.
